Description: 11-13 mm. Very similar to Strymon istapa. Gray above with a black forewing patch and only one pair of tails. Ventral side is light grey with black dots and an orange and black spot near the tail. Differs from Strymon istapa by the lack of bands on outer margin of the wings that is present in S. istapa.
Habitat and Distribution: Greater Antilles and Virgin Islands. It has been found on Big Pine Key, Stock Island and Key West - same habitats as Strymon istapa
Host Plant: unknown
Natural History: Easily confused with Strymon istapa. This species was recorded from the 1970's but has not been recorded since.
